Pet Paradise is currently searching for a Regional Manager for our Georgia; Murfreesboro, TN; Greenville, SC; and Birmingham, AL resorts- to join our team of pet lovers

Essential Functions of the Regional Manager:

Oversees the daily operations, programs, and managers of the Pet Paradise Resorts in their respective region. Ensures compliance with company standards by performing the following duties:

  • Provides oversight and guidance to the Resort Managers to provide and maintain standards of conduct, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Develops management team through training, coaching and feedback.
  • Evaluates Resort Managers in accordance with company standards and guidelines.
  • Reviews P&L with Resort Manager and Assistant Manager on a monthly basis and provides written analysis of P&L explaining any spikes or glaring decreases.
  • Reviews weekly schedule of resorts to ensure adequate staffing based on forecasted business volume. Analyzes the forecasted occupancy and compares with proposed schedule.
  • Pulls Schedule vs Attendance Report to evaluate previous work schedule and analyzes variances with Resort Manager
  • Review customer survey feedback on a monthly basis to identify areas of concern or trends. Visits each resort on a regularly scheduled basis; conducts site inspections to ensure cleanliness, maintenance upkeep, marketing efforts, etc. are in order.
  • Participates in corporate-scheduled conference calls and meetings and cascades information to Resort Managers.
  • Provides resources to Resort Managers on operational, guest and Human Resources issues.
  • Reports to VP of Resort Operations
  • Participates in community-sponsored events, Chamber meetings, etc. to network with community.

 

QUALIFICATIONS TO BE A REGIONAL MANAGER:

  • Prior regional or territory management experience required
  • Ability to manage up to ten Resort Managers and work in partnership with all Corporate departments (Marketing, HR, Finance, Maintenance) to ensure policies and procedures are enforced and initiatives are communicated and undertaken.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills including the ability to guide, direct, and motivate employees
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Prior experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality operations or similar
  • Comfortable being around dogs of all sizes and physically able to lift up to 60 lbs
  • Ability to read financial reports and manage payroll and inventory

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum two to four years related experience with strong training skills
  • Previous experience in animal care or other related field preferred
  • Prior management experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality operations or similar
  • Basic skills with common computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite

 

Work Environment:

The Regional Manager will spend 75% of his/her time visiting the resorts under his/her jurisdiction.  The remaining 25% of the time shall be spent analyzing data, attending to customer service issues, employee relations issues, performance feedback, among other areas of responsibility. Must have a valid driver's license and working motor vehicle.

The Regional Manager is an exempt-level position; hours worked per week are based on business volume and demand but will exceed 40 hours per week. The Regional Manager should visit resorts periodically on weekends and holidays.
