Summary:

The Manager of Training and Development will play a critical role in the future growth of NewDay Veterinary Care and the continued growth and development of its patient-care professionals. Based out of the company’s headquarters in Jacksonville, FL and reporting directly to the VP of Operations, this leader will be a key member of the company’s veterinary leadership team and will work directly with field operations teams as well as cross-functionally with different departments to develop and implement industry-leading training and development programs and processes. The Manager of Training and Development will assume complete ownership of the company’s training programs with an intense focus on supporting field leadership with tools, processes, and organization around helping our professionals realize their full potential and making them the best at what they do.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee an organized, comprehensive training program for veterinary paraprofessionals
  • Work cross-functionally to fully operationalize current training manual and tools, ensuring organization, ease-of-use, and overall effectiveness, including the integration of web-based platforms
  • Create and implement an objective measurement methodology to validate the effectiveness of training, coaching, and mentorship programs
  • Develop and oversee a process for continuous improvement in training processes, tools, and resources
  • Redesign, implement, and oversee the company’s Practice Manager training program
  • Provide mentorship for new Practice Managers
  • Develop and lead the company’s program for Veterinary Assistant, Veterinary Technician, and Practice Manager professional certifications
  • Conduct on-site clinic visits to train and develop leaders and teams
  • Lead or participate on project groups as directed

Position Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in the veterinary field as a practitioner
  • Practice Management experience and/or CVT/LVT preferred
  • Demonstrated experience developing training programs and training staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective consultative, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, & Word)
  • Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and see actions through to completion
  • Strong understanding of team dynamics
  • Driven, goal oriented, and conscientious
  • Ability for multi-day travel as required
